The gold medal dreams of Czech high diver Andrea Absolonová (Natália Germáni) are shattered when she suffers a devastating spinal injury while training for the 1996 Olympics. Forced to leave the sport she loves, Andrea follows a photographer friend into the world of nude modeling, ultimately reinventing herself as adult actress Lea De Mae and performing in over 80 pornographic films.

Based on a tragic true story, HER BODY presents a powerful portrait of dedication and resilience against the seductive backdrop of fame and desire.

"Rather than succumbing to sensationalism, Her Body offers a thoughtful exploration of identity, autonomy and the perception of the female body in industries that both exploit physical performance, yet are met with disparate levels of respect and reverence."
    Martin Kudláč, Cineuropa

"**** (4 stars) In effect, it’s three different roles – the Olympian, the recovering patient and the porn actress – and Germáni convinces in all of them. "

"A towering performance by Natalia Germani, intensely physical but also brittle and natural...."

"Her Body is a subtle but striking indie gem—the kind of film I love to discover. It’s heartfelt, unflinching, and absolutely worth seeking out."

"Natalia Germani gives viewers every bit of herself, leaning into the power of her success. Germani’s stoic gaze hides Andrea’s inner turmoil. It captures the emotional complexity of her story."
